As Seen On

Leon Greenwood and a Team GB bobsleigh teammate in helmets and team jackets beneath the Olympic rings

Nobody wins a bobsleigh race on their own

Different roles. Different responsibilities. One goal.

The crew in the sled is only the part people see. Behind every run are coaches, mechanics, medical and performance staff, each with a different job to do.

Leon uses that reality to talk about teams inside organisations: who is responsible for what, whether people trust each other, and what happens when one part of the team lets the rest down.

  • Relentless performance

Being told he would never run again, three years of rehabilitation, and why hard work on its own guarantees nothing.

  • Teamwork

Why a group of talented people can still make a poor team, using how a bobsleigh team actually works.

  • Performing under pressure

What Leon learned as a reserve athlete about preparing for a chance that has no date attached.

  • Leadership

Trust, communication and setting the example, drawn from policing and from life inside Team GB.

  • Culture and integrity

Why the way a team wins matters as much as the result.

Eighteen years. Two races.

Years of work can come down to a few seconds.

Olympic selection for the Team GB bobsleigh team was decided over two weeks and two races. Leon takes audiences through that fortnight: what was at stake, how the team dealt with it, and what he took from it.
